Tobias Haecker plays FORESTONE reeds
About Forestone Reeds:
I have always been a fan of synthetic reeds. They offer a stable sound and intonation and are not influenced by tempreture or humidity. You don't have to prepare or refile them and you can play one reed for months.
The outstanding quality of Forestone strucked me the first time I played the old Forestone Reed. It has all the advantages of a good synthetic reed. Furthermore, it has the roundest, warmest sound of all synthetic reeds I've ever known. Thus it has become my choice for my classical setups.
But Forestone continued improving their reeds and with the new unfiled cut they really did it. It has the punch and character I need but is also very capable of modulation. I really like the soundcolor, which reminds me of a 50s HardBop Sound. So it has also become my weapon of choice for jazz.
I now play Forestone on all of my horns and so far I haven't achieved to play down one of the reeds.
